Autobiography as Legacy - How to Speak Across the Generations, to Whom and Why
Lectures and Talks
* Suffering to Contentment
* Autobiography as Legacy
* Creative Non-fiction as Memoir
The desire to leave a legacy is usually associated with leaving an inheritance or bequests of money and/or property to those who remain after one dies. This presentation focuses on a different type of legacy which requires neither property nor funds and demands only time and thought. It is the legacy of life experience and personal philosophy as embodied in the narrative of a lifetime; one’s autobiography or memoir. This presentation addresses preparing for the act of writing an autobiography or memoir, structuring and developing the autobiography or memoir, and editing an autobiography or memoir for authenticity. The legacy of autobiography has the potential to enrich the lives of others in ways money and property never will.
